Exciting Times Ahead

Sun Nov 15, 2009, 7:28 PM
  • Mood: Love
  • Listening to: Live and Seal
  • Reading: Nothing read all my books
  • Watching: paint dry
  • Drinking: Tea, soon to be replaced by a glass of wine
I found out a few weeks ago that my contract will not be renewed, I was spewing as the job I do is a brand new role and I have been the one to implement all the processes. The only reson my contract is not being renewed is because my current job is being made permenant, and me being a contractor I am not allowed to apply for it.

So, after spending a whole weekend being as angry as hell at the whole situation I thought that this would be a good time to re think my path in life. So I have made a decision that I am really happy with. I have wanted for so long to concentrate on my art and try to make a living at it, so that is what I am going to do.

I am currently working on several oil paintings, one of which I have used the flemish technique, its quite time consuming and I have only just reached the dead layer, but it is very rewarding. I would like to concentrate on Portraits, but the landscapes are a good practice for other area's like depth, tone, perspective etc.

So watch this space for some WIP's
